API keys and webhooks
Connect ClickLookup to your own tools: create API keys and get notified with webhooks.
Create an API key
Open API from your user menu.
Only workspace owners can manage keys.
Click New API key and name it after where it will be used, e.g. “Zapier”.
Copy the key now.
It starts with
clk_and is shown only once.
A key can do what an editor can in this workspace. Revoke it from the same page and anything using it stops working immediately. Everything you can call is in the API Reference.
Get notified with webhooks
Webhooks POST an event to your server the moment something happens. Manage them on the Webhooks page: add an endpoint URL, tick the events you want, and store the signing secret — it is shown only once.
| Event | Fires when |
|---|---|
| Conversion received | Any postback or pixel conversion. |
| Click cap reached | A link or rotator URL reaches its cap. |
| Rotator URL started | A URL's start date passes, or it is switched on by On Finish Activate or SmartSwap. |
| Rotator URL paused | A rotator URL is paused because it hit its cap. |
| Rotator URL finished | A rotator URL hits its cap or its end date passes. |
| Link destination down | The daily check finds a link's Primary URL not responding. |
Each webhook has an on/off switch and a Deliveries log where failed deliveries can be resent. Failed deliveries are also retried automatically for a few hours. For payload format and signature checks, see Webhooks in the API Reference.
